I’m so happy you’re here!

Spiraling is a newsletter with essays on books and culture, ecology and care. It’s a space for circling my obsessions and moving toward wonder — like wind and water, seashells and galaxies, DNA and sweet pea vines.

It’s where I share offerings and observations from my writer’s notebook and engage in deep listening, turning toward beauty and curiosity in the face of despair and overwhelm.

I’m curious about what it means to make art, to make a family, and to make a life on a planet that’s warming.

I’m into poetry, gardening, knitting, biking, and friendship. I write about creativity, sustainability, and spirituality, in the broadest sense of the term, and share whatever else I’m writing, reading, watching, listening to, and thinking about.

If all of that is (somewhat) your thing, I’d love it if you’d stick around. I’m not totally sure what this space will become, but I hope you’ll be part of it.

You can subscribe (for free!) to hear from me in your inbox and get full access to the archives, and I’d be so honored if you’d share Spiraling with your friends.
